The Body Shop is seeking an established, licensed tattoo artist to join our private studio as an independent artist. This opportunity is intended for an artist who already has an established clientele and wants a professional studio location in Shelbyville — whether as a primary workspace or a second studio location.

 

$800 PER MONTH

This is an independent studio-space rental, not an employee position. You bring and manage your own clientele, appointments, payments, supplies, equipment, and business operations.

WHAT YOU PROVIDE

• Your own tattoo equipment and furnishings
• Tattoo machines and power supplies
• Needles/cartridges
• Inks
• Gloves and barriers
• Razors and other disposable supplies
• Your own booking and payment system
• Your own business/artist insurance
• Your own clientele

WHO THIS OPPORTUNITY IS FOR

We are specifically looking for an established tattoo artist who can independently maintain their own clientele and operate professionally within a private studio environment.

• Currently licensed to tattoo in Tennessee
• Established tattoo portfolio
• Existing clientele
• Professional social-media presence
• Comfortable operating independently
• Able to maintain a consistent, professional studio presence
• Local artist or artist from a surrounding area
• Artists seeking a second studio location are welcome
• Established artists traveling to Shelbyville for existing clients are encouraged to inquire

WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR

This opportunity is not intended for artists who are just beginning to build a clientele, artists seeking an apprenticeship, or anyone looking for a studio to provide their clients or business infrastructure.

CLIENTELE & WALK-INS

Artists are responsible for bringing and maintaining their own clientele, but are not limited to working only with pre-booked clients. When working from the studio, artists may choose to operate with the studio open to walk-in clients and accept additional business, subject to studio policies and availability.

The Body Shop does not guarantee leads or provide a client base. Any walk-in or additional clients obtained while working are the artist's own clients and business.

STUDIO ENVIRONMENT

The Body Shop is a private, professional tattoo and piercing studio. Artists are expected to maintain their workspace and leave the studio ready for health inspection whenever they leave. Studio cleanliness, professional conduct, security, and respect for the shared space are non-negotiable.

Artists have substantial independence in how they operate their own businesses. Once established within the studio and trusted with independent access, scheduling and working hours can be flexible as long as studio policies, security, cleanliness, and professional standards are maintained.
